hi there.
just want to know How much it safe if i compile and use kernel 4.9 (LTS) instead of the default kernel (4.4)
i know how to compile its not a problem BUT is it safe as time passes ?
anyone use custom kernel (like 4.9) for along time?

Hi
I would suggest just using the Kernel:stable repo, saves a compile?
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/
isn’t better or safer to compile and use LTS kernel and then jump to the next LTS kernel?
Hi
Compiling your own will mean it’s unsupported, if something isn’t working with your hardware etc means you will need to fix, raise bugs etc…
At least if you run stable and have an issue an openSUSE bug report will probably be acted on…
