I’ve created a new HD in VirtualBox but now I have no idea how to install the Ubuntu ISO I have for Ubuntu 9.10. How do I make this the OS of that hard disk?
Mount the iso in the settings - storage - IDE secondary master (I think)
You’ll have to add the .iso first
I think I figured it out:
Settings - > CD/DVD
Choose mount and choose the iso image
Then in Settings also change the boot order.
Actually just burn it as an ISO to CD and in the new VM it will ask you where to get the image.
using an .iso directly from the HD is much better performance.
True but then it depends on how comfortable you are on mounting an iso.
Virtual Box does it for you, all you do is point it to the .iso located on your HD
