How install flash 64 bit?

I want install flash 64 bit on OpenSuse 11.2.
But after 1 hours and 30 minutes of fruitless attempts there was no way to proceed. >:(

I have tried the manual installation of the plugin:
Install Flash 64bit in Linux

I was trying to prove the one click install:
pullin-flash-player
but it said that i have to download 650 mb!:sarcastic:
So i have stopped it.

Then i have tried to download the rpm and install it using zypper:

sudo zypper install flash-player-10.0.32.18-2.6.x86_64.rpm
Recupero dei dati del repository…
Lettura dei pacchetti installati…
‘flash-player’ fornice ‘flash-player=0:10.0.32.18-2.6’ che è già installato.
Risoluzione delle dipendenze dei pacchetti…

Nessuna operazione da eseguire.

zypper se flash

Are you sure that is not installed via default?
I’ve installed live kde 64 bit and firefox get flash site withount any problems

I have download the package:

and put the file:
/usr/lib64/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so

I haven’t nothing in:

sudo zypper rm flash
Recupero dei dati del repository…

Strange as it’s in there. Did you restart firefox? Logout and back in?

You could always go back to suse versions with this from su terminal

zypper in flash-player nspluginwrapper

Yes i have closed firefox and after that i start firefox but without result. :frowning:

When there are available the stable release will be possible forget this type of problem forever. >:(

But at least now i use flash at 32 bit better then nothing. :sarcastic:

I think much of the problem is Firefox’s fault. I had some trouble helping a friend with flash 64 in karmic 9.10, and the path isn’t totally clear; is it /usr/lib/mozilla-plugins, /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins, /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins or something else? Even “about: plugins” doesn’t reveal the path to the used plugin(s). That’s poor I think.

I’m an Opera user (and fan), and I’ll put the da** file where ever I want to - I just tell Opera where it is (by typing or browsing the path). I can’t find any similair in Firefox.

I’ll suggest you try thoose different paths (above). Make sure you hav’nt got multiple x.so. Usually your CPU panic then.

The file you downloaded was the 32 bit version. You need to download the 64 bit version from Adobe Labs - Downloads: Flash Player 10 for 64-bit Linux.
