How Does Dolphin Report Hard Drives

I am working on two x86_64 machines and have installed openSUSE 13.2 on both. Dolphin reports the hard drives differently and I am trying to understand why as follows.

On the first machine I used a Linux Format Magazine DVD to start a Live version to make sure the machine was working and then installed from the Live DVD. All went well and I updated as usual. Under “Devices,” Dolphin reports two drives, a 40.0 GiB and 656.4 GiB but both are shown as “Removable Media,” which they are not!!!
Yast reports:-
/dev/sda1 2.01 GiB mounted as swap,
/dev/sda2 40.00 GiB BtrFS mounted as /
/dev/sda3 656.42 GiB XFS mounted as /home.

On the second machine I used a burnt DVD from openSUSE to install the OS. On this machine under “Devices” I have just two “primary” devices shown.
Yast reports:-
/dev/sda1 156.00 MiB FAT mounted as /boot/efi
/dev/sda2 2.01 GiB mounted as swap
/dev/sda3 40.00 GiB BtrFS mounted as /
/dev/sda4 1.78 TiB XFS mounted as /home.

Why does Dolphin report the hard drives on first machine as Removable and not Primary? Could it be because I installed from Live version?
Does it matter?
Can I change the description from Removable to primary?

I have no idea what makes mass-storage devices “removable” other then that they are connected through USB. So the question is: how are the devices connected?

Hi Henk,
No USB drives. Both are hardware SATA/SAS RAID devices using on board dedicated RAID controllers which I believe are on PCI bus.

Hi I have just tried another installation from the beginning. Still could not get installation DVD to run so used Live version and once more the two primary drives are shown as removable devices. If I right click on them I am given the option to safely remove!!!
So where are the drives defined in the system. There must be a setting which has been set wrongly, probably because I installed from Live DVD but it should be possible to edit. Anybody know about these things?
