hello every one,
i have compiled/installed Apache from source code …
however i don’t now how to start it at system start up as a daemon to run at level 3
the server is usually started by the apachectl script
which understand start stop restart
i don’t want to use suse distribution of Apache
can i just copy apachectl to /etc/init.d and make a link to it at /etc/init.d/rc3.d ???
if i have to use the skeleton script could you please explain how to edit it to deal with apachectl
Hi
Grab a src rpm for apache2 and extract it, then use the init script from this.
Or even easier, grab the file from here (off to the right is the download link)
https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=apache2&project=Apache
The file you want is rc.apache2
i don’t know man my be i’ll just use manual start and stop for now
thanks any way
I would think it should be listed in Yast-System services(run-level)
Open Yast, Go to System Services. When it opens, Up at top select expert . High light what you want, turn it on(lower right) and check the run level boxes that you want it to start and run, Then save.
