How do linux people make money?

i mean , there is always something new , always new releases , I don’t think it is done in weekends and in lunch breaks!!
and those who work in developing linux distros must be highly qualified people?
just to have an idea, thank you all.

Well, part of the work is done by volunteers, in their spare time. But, there also are companies that encourage devs by giving them f.e. 1 day/week to work on linux projects, companies that do in house development which they contribute to the linux community. Some of those are very aware that they are building their own future. Yet, there’s still a lot of work being done by volunteers, that may have daily jobs in completely different areas.
