I’ve installed openSuse with Gnome on my workstation and I would like to uninstall gnome and install KDE 3.5 as my default GUI instead. Is this possible? And if so, how do I go about doing this?

Just a point of clarification: you don’t uninstall Gnome. Install as per caf4926’s advice. Then choose KDE at the login panel and it will default to that until you again choose differently.
It is actually possible to uninstall GNOME but I wouldnt recommend it unless you have a clear step-by-step procedure from someone who
s done it before. Theres no point doing it however since it doesn
t take much space and you don`t have to use it at all…
