how do I start "Yast" ???

To start Yast before, I used to click on the Computer icon at the lower left corner of my screen on openSuse 11. Now, it’s gone.

How do I start “Yast”? Also, anyone knows how to put back that Computer icon? Thanks.

At a command line type “yast2”. If you have a gui, you will get the gui version. If you don’t have a gui, you will get the menu-based yast (also available by typeing “yast”

Personally, I use ALT-F2 to open a command window, and type in YAST2 there.

It is only there if run the GUI under root user else applications>system>yast2
