How do I setup a FTP server?

I have opensuse on my acer laptop, and I also have a home build PC with windows vista ultimate installed. I love opensuse’s security and performance of applications. I was wanting to access files from my laptop to my PC through a FTP application. I really don’t want to wipe vista off my PC, so I was also wondering how to dual-boot it with opensuse. Thank you.

For a Windows FTP server go see a Windows forum or usenet group.

When you install openSUSE you get the chance to shrink an NTFS partition
to make room for SUSE. The GRUB bootloader will take care of the dual
booting. Don’t forget to make backups first.

Why does it have to be FTP? Couldn’t you use Samba client on OpenSUSE accessing CIFS file sharing on Windows? Don’t know if you are restricted in what you can share with your version of Vista.

I didn’t know what file transfer programs were available for opensuse. Thank you for your comments advice. I will look into how to setup Samba.

heres some good howto’s swerdna’s Linux HOWTOs and Tutorials: Suse Linux 10.0, 10.1 openSUSE 10.2, 10.3, 11.0

I think Havoc65 is referring to this site:

You should find it helpful.
