Hi guys,
I’ve got a Suse 11.2 laptop with a bluetooth Wifi device (recognised and working), and an Android 2.1 smartphone (Motorola Milestone). I would like to connect the two via Wifi. I don’t have a Wifi router, I’ve just used it now and again through hotspots. I normally connect to the internet via a mobile broadband USB dongle.
So, I suppose I need to configure my laptop as a Wifi router in order to set up our little private LAN between the two devices. Is that right? If yes, can someone please point me to a relevant howto because I’ve searched high and low and didn’t find anything.
If the above is not right, then where should I look, please? Is it possible at all, actually? :-o
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It may or may not be possible. It depends on what device/driver you have on the
laptop? If it is suitable, then the thread at
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-help-here/wireless/410475-how-setup-access-point.html
should help you. With those instructions, you could setup a LAN between your two
devices or even have your laptop serve as a router between the Android and your
broadband modem, i.e. the Android could access the Internet through the laptop.
Many thanks! I’ll give it a go.
