I’ve been trying to get OpenLP 2 running on OpenSuse but I can’t get python-qt4-phonon installed. There is no package for it. I think I might be able to get it by recompiling python-qt4 with the right options. Anyone know if there is a good howto for this anywhere?
Someone filled bug 607579 for this missing package against 11.2 and no one seems to have done anything lately. Maybe I’ll file a new bug to see if that gets someone’s attention.
It’s actually quite frustrating that this is completely missing from OpenSuse as I really like it otherwise.

Editing is disabled on posts on a 30-minute cycle because of the NNTP
gateway - I don’t see a problem with the thread title as you made it.
I did figure out how to do what I needed to. I’m now able to run OpenLP on OpenSUSE. I’ve posted instructions on the OpenLP Wiki. I’m going to file a bug since users shouldn’t have to do this. Other distros either include the phonon module in the python-qt4 package, or in a separate python-qt4-phonon package. There is no reason OpenSuse can’t do the same. I also found that OpenSuse is missing some of the python libraries the OpenLP uses like python-sqlalchemy and python-beautifulsoup. OpenSuse is not very python friendly will all the stuff that’s missing. Ubuntu and Fedora have no problem including all the necessary packages.
I’d like to change the thread Title so that it starts with “Solved:”, are you saying I can’t do that? Why would the forum admins make it that way?

You can tag the thread with a tag as solved. Changing the title of a
thread isn’t allowed because we pass messages through a gateway so our
NNTP audience can use it.
Allowing modifications to messages has been discussed quite a lot in the
forums, and this is how this forum is set up.

Because I already have a copy of the entire thread in my computer and you
are not allowed to change it >:-)
