How do I get Yast to remember login

HEY GUYS,

When I open YaST2 it always asks for the password. It has an option to “remember password”, but it never remembers it even when I select it. How do I fix this?

You always need it but if you check the box you don’t need to reenter for about 10 min.

You don’t. Nobody should have access to YaST without entering the root password. Like said it remembers only for 10 minutes.

A workaround is to open a root console, then use it to launch whatever you want to launch with elevated permissions. You’ll be prompted for the root password only when you elevate the console.

But not safe to simply leave a root console open at all times.
