how do I find out if I can secure boot

now I’m booting from UEFI boot but how can I find if I can secure boot ( probably in BIOS - but when I was there I only find uefi boot options and nothing about secure boot). I’ve Lenovo G500s

I’ll describe what happens with my Lenovo TS140 ThinkServer.

In the BIOS settings, there is a “Security” page (or tab or whatever you call it). The setting to enable/disable secure-boot is there.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with opensuse. To get it to work, I have to follow the steps in the section “Booting the Machine that supports only one signature with vendor provided Keys” in this document.

I’m normally leaving secure-boot off for that computer, except when specifically testing it.

if you checked the box for secure boot when you installed or when reinstalling grub2-efi then you should be able to use it. But knowing where to turn it off/on in the BIOS is another thing. Consult the documentation for the BIOS that your machine uses.
