How do I delete repos?

Hello,

At Things to do after a fresh installation of openSUSE 12.1 - PvdMWiki, I’m directed to " . . . delete source and debug repos and installation dvd repo." Well, I hate to be this dumb, but I don’t see how to do that. The delete key on my keyboard doesn’t do it. The edit or file tabs at the top of the terminal don’t provide a delete option. Right clicking the mouse doesn’t do it.

Would someone be so kind as to tell me how to do that?

Thank you.

YAST/Software Repositories

I just delete the entry for the DVD/USB.

That’s not official documentation.

The page you wrote about told you how to delete repos. You have to write
certain command.

Otherwise, you can use Yast, it has a module for managing repos. Easy point
and click.

offered in the spirit of help:

-do you know the person writing that page?

-what is the writer’s experience level with Linux?

-why do you trust what is written there to be accurate and helpful for
you and your machine?

-why do you need to install mc and yakuake (among others)?

-do you often write in Dutch?

-is it legal where you live to install those codecs?

-are you sure disabling IPv6 is either necessary for you, or would
adding a viable DNS be better?

-why not ask the page writer your question?

or just look it up in the provided docs, like
http://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/html/openSUSE/opensuse-reference/cha.y2.sw.html#sec.y2.sw.instsource

Wow! That never occurred to me. Thanks for letting me know.

Correct again. I should both re-familiarize myself with zypper and read directions in their entirety before trying to dive in.

Thank you.

And in the spirit of gratitude, Thank you for asking me those piercing questions.

Instead of just coming right out (here) asking what I really want to know, I tried google first.

I was first introduced to openSUSE when, at the 2009 Ohio (USA) LinuxFest, I received a copy of openSUSE Magazine that included a live dvd (yes, Novell has produced live dvds of openSUSE). I booted the dvd, liked what I saw, installed, and then followed along in the magazine.

In the interim (IMHO), I’ve gotten away from openSUSE because while 11.1 was okay, I didn’t like 11.2, 11.3, or 11.4. But 12.1 KDE has arosed my infatuation.

Well, it sure would be convenient to have an openSUSE magazine devoted to 12.1. So far, I haven’t found one. What would be the next best thing?

Thank you for all the responses; in the future I’ll be more discerning.

using tightly focused searches…i use google and its site specifiers

this 2 month old post of mine http://tinyurl.com/7n4t6fk has a section
describing how to use googles site specifiers to focus searches to stay
within the openSUSE universe, and you can throw in “12.1” (with quote
marks) as one of the items to sort on, and you will get closer to only
finding info relevant to openSUSE 12.1
