I am running 11.4 - 64 and trying to connect my son’s new ipod Shuffle with no success. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi
What generation of iPod? Have you tried gtkpod? What openSUSE release
and desktop?

It is a Shuffle he bought today from Walmart, so whatever gen is current. I am running v11.4 on LXDE. I have installed gtkpod, but it doesn’t see the ipod (I really don’t know how to use this tool). I have tried to mount it via ifuse, but see below.
~> ifuse /home/dad/ipod
usbmuxd_get_device_list: error opening socket!
No device found, is it connected?
If it is make sure that your user has permissions to access the raw usb device.
If you're still having issues try unplugging the device and reconnecting it.
Hi
Check to output from dmesg and lsusb, eg;

Which part of the dsmesg do you want? It’s pretty large. There was no ipod reference in it. Seems like it’s not being seen by the system.
Hi
It’s it’s not showing in lsusb output, then no need… I guess it must
be an 11.4 issue, it works as expected here on both SLED 11 SP2 and
openSUSE 12.1
