I just witnessed a strange phenomenon. The external VGA monitor only got a 1024x768 resolution under OpenSuse 42.3 , a 1600x900 resolution under win7 and Kubuntu worked flawless with 1080p. After rebooting into OpenSuse the dispay resolution is fixed. What kind of phenomenon is that? Is there an explanation to it?
Which GUI?
Or, did you notice this issue from a VT and/or GRUB2?
I just booted Kubuntu 17.10 and then restarted into opensuse 42.3
