How can I install moblin opensuse with a usb?

Hi everybody, I’m trying to install the new moblin opensuse system on my acer aspire one, but it doesn’t work correctly.>:( (I use image-writer)

Can somebody show me how to do it?

Thank you very much!!rotfl!

I think I used unetbootin. Worth a shot…

[Though in fact that was the standard Fedora version, and now I look I can’t find an image for the SUSE version]

[Maybe here? http://forgeftp.novell.com/moblin/iso/ ]

Yes, that’s my problem to, I find a mirror but not an image.
This file doesn’t work with unetbootin.

thanks, I’ll publish here if I find something

I felt the link we were pointed towards, showed an .iso but it is certainly large … 1.3G for OpenSuse Moblin

by comparison, some of the quick, and small, distros for netbooks; (based on Ubuntu) may be only 400K or so;

eg base Eeebuntu etc

some see virtue in a small distro, on a netbook; perhaps running a lightweight desktop such as LXDE;

(we put MoonOS, that runs LXDE, on an Eee900; it is 552K; it has run well; and is quick to load)

Yes, I know. I’m trying xubuntu now and it runs very fast, but I want to play moblin opensuse.
I think thats the new generation O.S. and looks cool

Well, here’s the eeeuser Moblin forum. The big ‘Moblin rocks’ thread in it has some discussion and links about installing, but I have no idea if any of it helps. :frowning:

Thanks anyway, I have tried everything and I got nothing, that’s like an urban legend lol :smiley:

regards!

[whispers] Have you considered just using the Fedora / Intel version? …

It’s starting to shape up fairly nicely. It would give you a chance to familiarise yourself with Moblin, then once SUSE (who haven’t been in this anywhere near as long) release an easily installable ISO, you can switch at liberty.
