how can i determine x32 or x64 bit Linux i have?

Hi, to all
how can i determine x32 or x64 bit Linux i have?

Do you have Suse installed??
If so, click the My Computer icon, look under: OS Information
OS:???

If you want to know if your system is 32 or 64 just boot your PC and check. In windows it would be easiest to right click My Computer

Or in a console type uname -a

“uname” -a result:
**Linux pro10g 2.6.16.21-0.8-smp #1 SMP Mon Jul 3 18:25:39 UTC 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
**

and what is the bit-width?

x84 which is 32bit

where in output “uname -a”

Linux pro10g 2.6.16.21-0.8-smp #1 SMP Mon Jul 3 18:25:39 UTC 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

is x84?

If you had a 64-bit linux, you would see (or at least I do) x86_64 (3 times) instead of i686 and i386.

just one more question:
if i havn’t install linux and only put disk into my drive. How to determine bit width of linux? there’s no info in readme or in license agreement.

In a konsole type

getconf LONG_BIT
