I just installed openSUSE 11.3 (Gnome). I am using Korean language, but I don’t want to make Korean language as my default language.
So I installed Korean lang as secondary language. It works well.
But the problem is Korean font. Actually BEFORE installing the language, the font look much nicer. But as soon as I installed the language, the font became ugly.
Even if I uninstal the language, the font still remains the same (ugly).
Where is the font setting for other languages stored? It would be nice if I can set default fonts for Korean language manually.
you have to set the font manually in individual applications.
e.g If you are browsing Korean websites in Firefox you should go to . . .
edit > preferences > content >fonts & colours / advanced
there is a drop down list so choose Korean and then set the fonts of your choice for viewing Korean web pages.
I’m not sure what fonts you would have installed for Korean. I use Japanese and am pretty happy with the sazanami & mikachan fonts
In Yast2 there is a fairly extensive list of Korean fonts you can download.
Thanks for the reply. But changing the setting of individual applications is not the solution I am looking for. I want to know where is the configuration files for the default font used for Korean language.
I think there must be one because BEFORE I installed the Korean language, the Korean font looked great.
I’m guessing the fonts.scale files in /usr/share/fonts/truetype are the ones but I’m not sure.
