How can I change file manager

Hi,

I am using 11.0 with kde3.

How can I change my file manager from Konqueror to Dolphin, or whatever else?

I looked for setting in sysconfig editor, but can’t find it.

For unknown reason, from time to time on my machine at work, Konqueror just won’t open (like today). It seems like he has mind of it own. No matter how many times I reboot or kill X, processes… and then, out of nothing, starts working normally.

I just want to put an end to this.
So, where file manager application is set?

Just install dolphin with yast-software and use it.
For Konqueror are you working stand alone , check your free data space.

When you also mean: not just use it (like anton says), but also: I want to use it from a button in my panel.

Rght click on the panelre will be something line Panel Menu > Add program to Panel (language dependent). Use this. When satisfied with the result, you can remove the old button.

stupid me…
I just had to right-click on folder, then wrench icon, then make something else to execute folder.

Hi
If you want to change the default file manager do this:-
menu (start) button, control center, KDE components, file associations, in right hand window expand inode, open directory, an application preference window will open, click on the file manager you want to use , and use the move up/down buttons.

Hope this was helpful

Definately helpful.

In the time I was writing the post, I had severe brain block… sometimes that happens… Brain just decide to give it a rest. :frowning:
