How can I adjust screen resolution in open SUSE 11.0 ?

I need to change screen res to one that’s more appropriate to my display monitor. The one that actualy i have after insatlling openSUSE 11.0 doesn’t fit well, so the image appears a litle distorted.
I’m using Ati Radeon A9250 VGA driver.

thanks

If xrandr is supported, you can try issues commands from the command
line.

However, it may be that the monitor definition is off… xrandr will
only allow you to change to resolutions that are supported by
your monitor (and even then, sometimes xrandr isn’t supported
well by some drivers).

Is your monitor configured correctly in yast (sax2)??

If you’re running KDE krandrtray will allow you to do most
xrandr like things from a convenient gui.

Hi, thanks for enlightening
indeed,i did not configured sax2 .didn’t knew about that , I’m a newbye.
But now i observed that my VGA card is not detected correctly, being listed in SaX2 X11 as ATI RV 280 5960 not as ATI radeon A 9250.
I’ve noticed weak graphic performaces , way lower than in windows.
Can you tell me please how i can correct this ?

Thanks
