Hi all, I am the author of the GluCat package: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/science/glucat and am currently enhancing it via Git on SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/p/glucat/git/ci/master/tree/ Very soon I will be ready to tag and release version 0.7.2. Is there a way to test build GluCat on OBS before I release the new version, to avoid the patching that took place with 0.7.1 ? Where is this documented ?

Hi
Just branch the package into your home repository to build from your
master git version (perhaps set as a service to auto build). Once you
test and are have tagged for release you can submit the completed
package.

Sorry to be very ignorant, but I have never directly contributed to the OBS, and so I have no clue.
By “submit the completed package” do you mean the proecure documented here:
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Package_maintenance#Submit_your_changes
If so, I don’t know how to get to the login prompt to start. Do I register a username somewhere and ssh to somewhere else? Where is this documented?
Thanks!

Hi
Sort of But I would only push to the development project. Generally
openSUSE doesn’t update the released versions, security fixes are
generally back ported via the maintenance routine.
