Hello guys,
How can I add Windows Domain Account to VBoxusers group? To permit this user use VirtualBox Apps.
I suspect you need to give some more info
What do you mean exactly by windows domain account?
Any user’s account on the existing machine can be added to vboxusers in User & Group Management in Yast’s Security and Users section
Are you perhaps talking about a user that exists on a windows domain but not on the machine itself?
I have OpenSuse11 workstation that joined to Windows domain. Now I need provide users from Active Directory permissions to run VirtualBox. As I know for that - I need put user account to local group called “vboxusers”. The problem is that on Yast->Security->User & Group Management located only “local” user account.
Does anybody know how resolve it?
did you figure this out? i need the solution please.
Hi!
I was looking for the solution to this problem too.
so after some digging around I’ve found that when the file /etc/group is edited to include <username>@<domain>.local or whatever fits your login system, this domainuser has the right to use vbox.
have fun!
Lennart.
