my company, so I will add the lines ALL: xxx.xx.xx. to hosts.allow and
ALL: ALL to hosts.deny?

It only works on TCP services that use tcpwrapper. Many services, especially standalone ones, e.g. Apache, dont. It’s not a general firewall feature.

You can use hosts allow and deny in smb.conf, if it’s only Samba you’re talking about. smb.conf
