Ok, so no btrfs.

Huh?

You should not get any password request.

Why do you do that? :open_mouth:

It seems that by hitting the power button you are crashing your machine
while it is running, attempting to hibernate, and perhaps failing to.
The password prompt you see is probably the desktop screensaver
password, which should kick in at some point in the hibernation/restore
cycle, so that someone getting access to your machine can not power it
up and get instant access.

The machine should complete hibernation, but if you see the password it
means that it “returned” from hibernation, and is in full-run-mode. Then
you hit the power and halt or crash it, depends. In the second case,
logs are missing.

So instead, just type the password and have a look.

Well, it is as I said: hibernation aborts, and you get back to the
desktop. It is at this point when you have to look at pm-suspend.log and
the end of the messages file.

Ah, a suggestion: next time switch off the camera lamp when shooting a
computer display or tv. They have their own backlight, and the camera
light shines in the reflective surface of the display, making the result
actually worse

Of course, with most digital cameras, their software gets confused when
you shoot a dark display background with white letters, because most of
the scene has not enough light. But the result is usually good. With a
manual, non automatic, camera it is easier to get better results.
