Tumbleweed latest version.
Hi,
I recently installed TW. Hibernate is not happening. I have a Swap Partition = RAM, created during installation.
In the Energy Saving app, I set the settings to Hibernate, when I close the lid of the Laptop.
But it is not happening, closes all the open files and windows. Re-boot the OS, after I close the lid.
Regards,
Hi
It maybe systemd taking control of the lid switch, by default it’s set to suspend rather than hibernate.
cat /etc/systemd/logind.conf | grep HandleLidSwitch=
#HandleLidSwitch=suspend
If you edit the file as root user and change to hibernate and remove the # at the beginning so you have;
HandleLidSwitch=hibernate
Restart the laptop, does it now work?
Tried it:
1 removed the #
2 changed value to: hibernate.
Did for both with and without external power.
But not working. Session is not saved. Restarted twice, once to confirm the settings.
How big is your swap partition? For hibernating you need a swap partition at least as big as your RAM.
The Swap is = RAM. Created during installation.
But the option Save session in the **Logout **screen is working perfectly. Hibernate is not required as this has the same effect.
Thanks for your helping hand. Enjoying TW. Had my first update as well. Everything is cool.
