I was trying to install opensuse, but unfortunately i have come up with lots of errors. Im just learning bout linux systems…
the first one dat i encountered was at the install overview page-
the boot loader is installed on a partition dat does not lie entirely below 128gb. the system might not boot.
i skipped this warning as was suggested in other threads… The boot loader is installing on a partition that does not lie entirely below 128
then the following errors-
2) failure creating the volume //sda5/. system error code was: -1007
3) failure creating the volume / /sda6/. system error code was: -1008
4) failure formatting the volume //sda7/. system error code was: -3030
5) failure mounting the volume / /sda7/. system error code was: -3030
for these errors there were two options - continue /abort
i clicked on continue…
then aftr the installation the system rebooted. i came back to the welcome menu of the dvd. selected boot from harddisk… den i came to network…
now im stuck there as an error says unable to connect to d internet. now running internet connection test.
for all this process i was following the following thread (difference was suse version and windows version)… Installation - OpenSUSE 11.0 / Win XP Dual Boot
please help further…!!
Please just clarify, that you are actually now running openSUSE?
You can’t connect to the internet?
It might be handy if you have a USB pen drive to hand…
thanks for the reply…
I just finished installing OpenSUSE 11.3_x64
But nw i cannot connect to the internet
Initially i was not able to connect to the wifi router itself. i googled the problem and came upon suggestions of manually entering the IP address, which i did.
Now it connects to the router (thru NetworkManager), but still no internet access… (while in windows i still can access)…!!
Thanks in advance…
In SUSE open a terminal and enter the following
/sbin/lspci -nnk
I need to see the result
So you will have to copy and save it to a text file, and transfer it to a flash drive, then post it here from a computer that has internet.
Are you not able to use wired internet?

Can somebody help me with the issue im facing as mentioned in the previous posts… thanks…!!
OK the following are your network devices
*07:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8040T PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller [11ab:4355] (rev 12)

The second one Intel 5100 is wireless
Both devices are showing a driver in use.
