Yet another member for you. Although long over due, I have finally decided to settle here, on the OpenSUSE forums. Having been around other distro forums in the past, I have to say, you have the friendliest one.
Just like my switching forums in the past, I have also tried many Linux distros, including OpenSUSE over the years. Each one having it’s pros and con’s to varying degrees, however, OpenSUSE always comes out top, for me. I use it both at home and at work now, being in a position to see that the case. It has always been great to have choice.
Overall experience with Linux began in those days of CLI only interaction… well, haven’t we come a long way since then. Though, the CLI still comes in handy to fix things that broke (broken, as a direct result of fixing something that didn’t need fixing in the first place) lol!
So, now I’m here, I will certainly try to give a little help to other users around the forums.
Well let me be one the first to welcome you to the openSUSE forums.
It is a really good place to come if you are using SuSE. I would encourage you to look around for all things that interest you. You should, after making a reasonable try yourself, come here and ask help for any problem. Be prepared to post as much information about the issue as possible. It is always difficult to diagnose a problem from afar without as much information as you can provide. And, besides having fun, offer help when you see you can and do not be afraid if you miss the mark as people still appreciate the attempt. Be courteous at all times and realize that some people just seem to be having a bad day.
Welcome. Glad you settled on the distro I stayed on - with the occasional look & see trip to a small number of “alternative releases”. CLI? That must be the Computer’s Lost Interface. lol! Well I try to lose it, but its usefullness keeps returning.

Many thanks. I’m sure I will. I had made visits here many times in the recent past, just as a guest on the side-lines. Seeing the strong community/spirit here, compared to some ‘alternatives’ was/is the deciding factor among other things. This is how a distro forum should be.
