I am running on a dv6000 laptop with a built in wireless card. Everything works fine, it locates my drivers and hardware, but now how do i connect to my wireless network. it doesn’t automatically detect and networks in range.
please help, i am a total noob at linux, so step by step walk through would be great :).
Which version of suse ??
If 11 there are lots of issues with the network setup. I’ve already lost several hours trying to fix something that still isn’t fixed.
If 11 try an online update first, then check the network manager in the kde systemtray. There is an option to configure wireless lan’s but you need to connect it manually each time due to some nasty bugs nobody apparently saw during the whole release of beta’s and RC’s.

At the beginning of the wireless forum
(http://forums.opensuse.org/network-internet/wireless/), which is where this
should have been posted, is a sticky entitled “My wireless doesn’t work - a
primer on what I should do next”. Please read it, perform the steps listed, and
post the results.
