Help

Ok, so i installed the software and didnt put a single name or password for the root and just pressed ok and now im stuck trying to get to yast x_X

How much time did you spent for the installation? 30-45 minutes or 1 hour.
I will spend another hour for the reinstalltion to correct the mistake of not writing a password for user and root.

not the smartest plan, huh?
next time, i’d strongly advise you to put in a strong root password…

>and just pressed ok and now im stuck trying to get to yast

ok, here is your solution: your root password is nothing…that is, do
not type ANYTHING in the root password block…just hit enter and it
should accept nothing (which is what you say you input during
installation)…

THEN (once you find your [nothing] password works) search these fora
to learn how to CHANGE your root and user password to something much
more secure…

If you installed openSUSE 11.1 using the DVD and just kept clicking “next” and “ok” all the way through…your root password should be the same as your user password.

If neither your user password nor a blank password work for you…conram’s advice would be the quickest solution. Given the turn around time for back & forth communication on a forum…reinstall would be much faster.

New partiltion is the smartest solution for you.
