help with yast in sled 10 hp mini 2133

hi,

i have been given an hpmini 2133 with suse enterprise desktop 10 installed on it. i am trying to get a bittorrent client working but this version doesn’t support 1click installs.

the main problem i am having is that when i open the install software thing or yast software manager, it says there are no available software and no packages show up.

i am used to using ubuntu so can handle a bit of technical stuff but this system is proving immensely awkward, especially because of the via c7-m cpu (i didnt know they existed until two days ago!) which prevents me from changing to ordinary ubuntu distros.

if anyone can help me get a bittorrent client running ill appreciate it!

tia

p.s. any alternative distro suggestions and how to’s would be useful too!

Since you are an ubuntu user, did you already check that links?

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HP2133

It seems that there are solutions to most problems with this machine for
ubuntu. I would also ask an ubuntu forum about it (after reading the links),
I doubt it makes sense to make you switch from what you know.
As already said by caf4926 SLED is not openSUSE!

PC: oS 11.3 64 bit | Intel Core2 Quad Q8300@2.50GHz | KDE 4.6.1 | GeForce
9600 GT | 4GB Ram
Eee PC 1201n: oS 11.4 64 bit | Intel Atom 330@1.60GHz | Gnome 2.32 | nVidia
ION | 3GB Ram

thanks guys, my bad i just wasn’t sure where to go with this problem, i thought sled and opensuse were the same!

ive already checked the laptop testing page and tried 10.04 but the laptop didn’t like it, it’s an odd little machine.

ill follow it up on the ubuntu forums.

thanks for the help!

If you cannot make ubuntu run on that system and want to try if openSUSE
works feel free to ask again. It is then probably better to ask in the
laptop section of the forum.
Of course I do not know if oS will work with it.
