help with wireless

I recently upgraded from 10.3 to 11.1, and wireless stopped working.

Hardware information gives the wireless adapter as:

  • PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection

and the Kernel Driver as:

  • iw3945

Don’t know what else to post.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have a look at the stickies ref what else to post,also, there is a dianostic script in one of them.Run it & see what it says

I also tried to get the script that pdc_2 pointed to, but that link seems broken (“The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.”)

looks to me, you need to associate it with the wireless network. click network manager,select new connection & fill in the details.at the end, click save,not save & connect. then,click on network manager & select your network. You should be good to go then.

After starting KNetworkManager, I noticed that when right-clicking on it, it said that NetworkManager is not running. Apparently, you have to give users permission to manipulate the network (an option on the General tab in YaST ==> Network Devices ==> Network Settings). Except that I didn’t find any option for KNetworkManager, only for KInternet. Well, I am particular about that, KInternet seems like a solid tool.
