Is there a way to type symbols like ≥ and ≤ without copy and pasting from google searches?
≥ ≤
I did this by using the Compose key and then > _, etc.
(BTW, by using the - instead of the _ : → ← )
This is in KDE. You do not tell what you use.
Thanks, I am in KDE but I am afraid i do not know what the compose key is, could you help me with that?
I do not have KDE in English and will try to translate, but you may see different names.
Setting > System Settings > from the group Hardware > Input devices.
From the new view Keyboard > Advanced.
There you see a list. Open the > Position of Compose key By clicking on the triangle). There you can choose one. I use Right Ctrl, but it is up to you.
After you changed there, you can use it (maybe you have to logout/login before it wroks).
RightCtrl " u for ü
RightCtrl ^ 6 for ⁶
RightCtrl = e for €
In short let your fantasy take over. Maybe it will not give you all you want, but many.
You can find a list at
/usr/share/X11/locale/en_US.UTF-8/Compose
Thank you! greatly appreciated!
You are welcome.
After using this for years it has settled into my fingers as an automatic action
