When i select something for example “wobbly: windows ripple while they move.” and then click enable i have to put my root password in and then this error appears.

Now as for my graphics card i have a GeForce7600 GS. Im not entirely sure that i have installed it properly. I went through a guide i found a while back but wasn’t sure it i had done it correctly. How do i know if it is installed properly?

Sorry for the Delay mate.

The opensuse-xgl-settings is used mostly for GNOME. You don’t need it in KDE. If the NVIDIA drivers are installed and working then XGL is not needed. One way to check the installation is to look in the menu for nvidia-settings (or just type it in a konsole window). It should pop up and tell you the version of driver you are using. [mine is system->more programs]

Read this: Compiz Fusion - openSUSE Concentrate on the enable/disable sections.

Here is the NVIDIA information:NVIDIA - openSUSE

I have always done it the “hard way”. It has never failed me.

Cheers mate, once again i am at work now but will continue to work with this tonight. thumbs up

I would like to try and start again. How do i delete programs that i have installed on to my system so they are off there for good???

sorry for the delay -

YaST->Software management

Search for what you want to delete.
Click on the checkboxes (twice). they will change to a trashcan. This means they are set to be deleted. Just hit Accept and let YaST do it’s thing.
