Help with configuring Netgear N150 USB adapter

Hello some help would be greatly appreciated, I obviously don’t know what I’m doing.
My problem as I see it is that my wireless adapter won’t show up in YaST / Network Services / Network Devices and I’m stomped because things seems to be working. I have gotten this far:

/usr/bin/lsusb
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0846:9030 NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271]

/usr/sbin/iwlist scan

If it returns a scan result, it is working. All that is wrong is
configuration. As you failed to state either your openSUSE version or the
desktop you use, I cannot give you exact configuration details; however, I
recommend that you set the network to be controlled by NetworkManager, and that
the configuration be done with the applet’s “Manage Connections” option.

Thanks for the reply. Of course knew I would forget something I run:

KDE:4.7.4
openSUSE 11.4

Hi, I’m also a newbie with exactly the same problem described by Botaniska and I’m also not sure I know what I’m doing.
I have openSUSE 12.2 (i586) with KDE:4.8.5.
My computer is dual boot with Windows and I have set up this wlan on the Windows without any difficulty.
The recommendation is to set the network to be controlled by NetworkManager, and set
the configuration be done with the applet’s “Manage Connections” option; however I have no idea how to do this.
Could anyone point me in the right direction please.

No, wait, I managed to find the NetworkManager setting via YaST -> Network Settings -> Global Options tab. Then OK.

I entered sudo /user/sbin/NetworkManager in a command window.

Then I started Network Connections from the Kickoff, though I was lucky then and I have no idea how to start it now.

Using NetworkManager was then as straightforward as in Windows.

wlan now works fine.
