Help Setting up the Worst Nvidia Card class of them all.....the 970m

Alright so im just gonna be honest here. i have been using ubuntu the past 3 years so my brain is completely fried on having to do something other than find a ppa and say install. I have an Asus ROG with a 970m. now absolutely everything in this laptop runs right off the bat, even the keyboard back-lighting.

During install i of course said hell no to the Xorg driver and the system told me it would use graphic simulation. even with the power in my baby my desktop dissapear’s randomly and i get awful screen tear.
I ran through Yast Control center and installed the Nvidia driver ending in 3 that was labeled “800 class and newer”.
Is this not right??
my system crashed on reboot. and before i rebooted i noticed it installed the nvidia x server app. when i opened the nvidia app it said my nvidia drivers were not in use. i figured this was simply because i needed to reboot.

Please post:

/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -EiA3 'vga|3d|display'

Not right. I take it you added the nvidia driver repository. If the card is GeForce GTX 970M, then according to the nvidia site at Geforce Driver Results | NVIDIA the correct driver is Version 390.77. That is in YaST as x11-video-nvidiaG04.
Uninstall the other one while you are at it.
