Why do think there would be files in /home/bin ??
>Home>bin?? Are you talking about the folder bin in your homedirectory, i.e. /home/username/bin? If so, then chances are high that there are indeed no files in it. (It starts out empty, I think)
Anyway, the number that you see in the info dialog (3 out of 12 gb) refers to the space on the disk/partition that ~/bin is located on. It even says so. For example what I see (sans the numbers):
Mounted on: /home
Device usage: xxx GiB free of yyy GiB (zz% used)
Although I can understand that it might be a little confusing.
And since you already looked the properties of ~/bin, look at what it say about its size. There you will find some info about how many files are in the directory, how much space they take and how many sub-folders there are.

Yes, empty.
If you install something like google-earth, the installer creates a shortcut to itself in there.
Dear thaicares,
Welcome to these Forums. You are welcome to post Help question in the help section of these Forums. But why did you post this question in General-chitchat, where it EXPLICITLY says at the top:
PLEASE do not post help questions here
Also when you next time post in one of the Help subforums, make a good title, not “Please help” because that is where all the threads are about. Remind that it is important for YOU to advertise your problem in a way that people who know somethiing about he subject open it to read it. Something like: “Why is >Home>bin empty” would at least express what your question is.
