I am the owner of the internet cafe and i am using suse 10.0 .
I have a server and i want to obtain (or set) IPs automatically. Is there a way of doing this?
Currently iam bypassing the server and i am using a desktop computer running on windows xp with NetTime software. But i want to go through the server running on suse.
Thanks in advance
Ps:
- i am a complete linux newbie.
- i used to have a friend who could do it but he went on vacation to southAfrica.

It’s called Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, and the openSUSE package
is called ‘dhcp-server’, and with it a YaST module is installed for
configuration.
For the clients there is ‘dhcp-client’ or ‘dhcpcd’, which is in the Base
System pattern, so dhcpcd is most likely already installed.

XP doesn’t have a DHCP server afaik, and NetTime is NTP client software,
so what that has to do with DHCP I don’t know.
What is it you want?
