and i got to step for where i had to input ‘/usr/sbin/iwconfig’ in the terminal.

eth0 no wireless extensions.
my laptop has a manual wireless switch and i leave it in the ‘on’ side. haven’t touched it since i installed openSUSE over windows, but now it’s showing the ‘off’ light even though its in the ‘on’ side.

Did you install the firmware? Check the output of ‘dmesg | grep b43’.
If not, see the sticky entitled “Additional wireless bits”.
