hi,
I am regular user of windows, but one week ago I installed ubuntu, it was very cool and then I installed opensuse yesterday because I like its kde desktop. But i have problem with wireless, i can see my home wifi, but it doesnt connect. I have same problem in ubuntu, but it was solved when i change passphrase to 40/128 bt from 128 bt, but in opensuse, all i can see is 128 bt or 64/128 ascii. Also I m unable to play mp3 songs in opensuse. Can anyone help me, please? or I have to switch to ubuntu.
Thanks in advance

Put in the key for WEP. Do not use a passphrase. Your router will tell
you what key to use.
Also, mp3’s do not play by default due to licence issues, you must add the packman repo, and install some codecs. Search on this forum for posts by oldCPU on the subject…
HTH
no luck with that, i didnt enter passphrase, but it shows the same thing without trying to connect. Is there anything else I can try?

Are you using NetworkManager? If so, you should use the applet to create
a connection. If you are not, I recommend it, particularly for newbies.
I tried everything I could, but no luck, now I dont like opensuse, even m unable to enable compiz in opensuse, i tried to enable frm configure desktop–> window manager–> and change to compiz, it enables the compiz but the top most tray (which has program name and have minimize, maximize and close option) is missing. Is there anything else I can do for my wireless and compiz??
