Help me with touchscreen please...

Had it working in Ubuntu and now Ive switched to openSUSE and loving it! Much better than Ubuntu. But I cant get the touchscreen working. Please help…Ive tried to get it working but assume I have done nothing please. Im semi-intelligent when it comes to linux but most of my experience has come from Ubuntu. Here is a Ubuntu page on getting it working if this helps.

Im kernel 2.6.34-12 and using openSUSE 11.3 (32 bit) If you need anymore info please ask. Thanks for any help

Also im sorry if I put this in the wrong place.

Hello rolltide101x and welcome to the community!

Good to hear you like openSUSE!

You forgot to mention which touchscreen/computer you have.
But looking at the link I assume you’ve got an ASUS Eee PC T101MT Tablet PC?

The link is in this case useless.
But what you need to do is download the driver from here: eGalax_eMPIA Technology Inc. TouchKit Linux Driver
Not sure which one you need but I’ve read a thread where they say you need the beta: openSUSE 11.3 and eGalax TouchScreen

I don’t have a touchscreen myself, so I couldn’t test it.
I recommend you try downloading the driver, read the thread carefully.
There’s most likely a README or INSTALL file in that package, maybe that’s usefull?

Best of luck!

Did you get the touchscreen working?

I’m considering getting one of these in lieu of one of the Android tablets scheduled to be out this fall.

sorry guys, Ive been very busy the last couple days. I will let you know something in the morning

and yes that is my exact model computer
