Help - Epson CX7400 Printer

One of my friends bought one of these monsters. I tried using the latest drivers at the akasys (or whatever it is) website, and the older versions in the repos. Neither of them made the printer driver show up in the printer section of YaST. I’ve heard of people getting this printer to work with the drivers. How do you get it working right?

Actually, it’s an Epson CX7450. Too bad I can’t find the edit button for the first post. <_<

The CX7400 drivers should work. Check here for the CX7400:

You might want to check:
http://openprinting.org/printer_list.cgi
to see if you can find the CX7450 listed, I did not find it.

Hi sonicbhoc;

if you go with the gutenprint driver, you need to clarify if your system; (or your friend’s?) is running 32bit or 64bit;

Suse needs LSB 3.1 and the appropriate rpm file;so select that;

if you download that, you can install by rightclicking on the rpm and selecting the install (forget exact phrase) that activates YaST;

that seems easier than command line install in terminal;
