Long time linux user looking for a place to land, I may have found it. I have an HP-Pavilion laptop with an AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6, Compute Cores 4C+6G 1.80GHz. with Installed RAM 12.0 GB (11.4 GB usable)
Since it was given to my a year ago, I have been trying with limited success to install Linux. As this laptop in proprietary MS built this has been an ongoing challenge with limited success.
First let me say that I have to congratulate open SuSe for being the ONLY Linux distro that installed on this laptop from the DVD from boot to reboot without a hitch. Most other distro’s need a ‘nomodeset’ added to the grub boot loader to even get a gui to install.
NOT SuSE…NICE JOB. Thank you for the good job, now to turn on my wireless and go mobile.
