Hello world!

My first post to this forum to introduce myself as customary.

I switched to openSUSE 12.3 because I need a mostly bug free Linux powerhouse.

My other distro which I still use is considered “archaic” but is also a favorite.

I initially dual booted 12.3 with Windows 7 on a laptop, but

moved windows to an older PC and now run openSUSE only.

The only “problem” I had was getting use to all the different repositories.:shame:

Hello and welcome here.

Hope you feel at home and enjoy openSUSE.

Welcome! Indeed a large difference I noted from Debian was adding a few extra repositories to get what you need. Though I can’t say I have a problem with it. I hope you enjoy using openSUSE, have a lot of fun!

It takes some time to get the hang of the repository concept

Hello Tenessee !! Welcome.
Take your time to find your way around on openSUSE. Yep, a lot of things are different, but in the end Debian, Arch, Mint, they’re all linux.
