Headphones sound issue in 13.2 KDE (fresh install)

After new installation of 13.2 KDE to Lenovo laptop (Thinkpad x201) the sound worked only in speakers but not in headphones.

So sound plays in speakers, and when no sound after I connect the headphones to a plug.

I investigated and found that I can switch a sound to the headphones in KDE Configure Desktop/Multimedia/Audio and video settings/Audio hardware setup/Device configuration/Connector.

So automatic switching of the sound to the headphones after plug in does not work, and I have do it manually in KDE Configure Desktop.

How to return back the normal state? It worked before the upgrade from 13.1 to 13.2.

The recognised sound card is: 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio

Driver snd-hda-intel

Can’t say why it is not detected but there are ways to have it work

Installing pavolcontrol package will allow detail control over audio. Since you have KDE you may want to try veromix which does the same but lives in the system tray, thus easier to get to.

Also paprefs package allow single source to go to multiple outputs.

Note you may want to raise a bug on Bugzilla that the plug event is not either not being detected or not acted on
