Headphones not working with HP Pavillion dv7

Hi,

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 with Intel sound chip. Sound works fine so far. The only thing that doesn’t work are the headphones. If I plug the headphones in there’s no output and the speakers of the notebook are not muted.

I followed instructions in this forum to update alsa to the latest version (1.0.20) but that didn’t change anything.

Here are some of my configs:

[root]:~ # rpm -qa | grep alsa
alsa-plugins-pulse-1.0.18-6.13
alsa-1.0.18-8.9
alsa-driver-kmp-default-1.0.20.20090622_2.6.27.23_0.1-5.1
alsa-utils-1.0.18-6.4
alsa-plugins-1.0.18-6.13
alsa-tools-1.0.18-1.16
kalsatools-1.5.0-499.110
alsa-oss-1.0.17-1.43
alsa-oss-32bit-1.0.17-1.37
alsa-devel-1.0.18-8.9
alsa-firmware-1.0.17-1.42
[root]:~ # more /etc/modprobe.d/sound
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel

Any ideas what’s going wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Ralf.
