Newbie question. Running SUSE leaf 15.4 from a USB HDD plugged in to my HP laptop. Trying to plug my video output into a TV. Using an HDMI cable I get video on the TV but only the right hand side of the actual output. I’ve tried all the screen control options on the tv but no good. Is there somewhere specific I should looking in the documentation or anywhere else please?
Have you tried booting with the TV already connected and turned on? If the TV has more than one HDMI input, did you try all of them? If the TV has more than one HDMI input, is one of them labeled differently from the others? If so, use the different one. What make and model is the laptop? What make and model is the TV? Is the TV a 4K model? If yes, does the laptop support 4K? If you are using Plasma, try disabling KScreen2 in background startup settings. Is Windows still bootable? If yes, does it work as expected?
Hi
Just an FYI. There have been a couple of past threads which users found the actual TV settings for the screen input (HDMI) needed changing.
Hi and thanks for the suggestions. I have discovered a monitor setup package in Yast2 which has provided a way to get me mostly there though I am still tweaking it. The Laptop and the TV seem happy to talk to each other it’s just getting the laptop screen to properly fit the TV though I’m mostly there.
