I just set up a new Acer Aspire X1301 in 11.2. It has Nvidia audio. The model is the MCP78S. The sound set up now is:
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
M71A._ZvUJB8BOBC:MCP72XE/MCP72P/MCP78U/MCP78S High Definition Audio
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
With this setup, HDMI digital audio works fine, but analog audio does not. I’ve followed the procedure in the "SDB:Intel-HDA sound problems’ Wiki, but with no success. None of the obvious models in the listing for the ALC888 in the HD-Audio-Models.txt seems to work. There are 5 jacks, an spdif port and an hdmi port on the back and two jacks on the front of the computer.
Has anyone had any success getting the sound to work on this computer? Any help would be appreciated.
