Having Issues launching SuSe

Dual Boot XP and Suse 11.0
Installed a IOGear USB KVM switch last night for XP/Suse and Vista box. Now when loading Suse it gives could not start kdeinit4. I click Okay, and it asks me to login. It won’t let me get to a terminal to run YaST, it won’t let me login, and I know my login credentials are right. Any ideas or should i just start it from scratch and reinstall KDE?

When starting the machine be sure you are not showing the booting machine by the KVM until well past POST ( the beep at startup) before switching to the booting machine.

I have had a problem with the mouse and a D-LINK KVM. If the booting machine is displayed by the KVM at boot all is well until I switch to the other machine then switch back the mouse is frozen. But If I make sure the booting machine is not displayeid in the kvm at boot the switching does not effect the mouse. THis effects both Linux and windows and seems to be a BIOS issue even though the machines I have tried are of wildly different ages and makes.

I also had problems with 10.3 not recognizing the mouse after install. I did not have time to fool with it so Installed 10.2 instead. This worked fine (Note I installed with the KVM connected) 11.2 seems to not have a problem, but again I installed with the KVM in the mix. It still has the the startup BIOS issue but otherwise the mouse works fine.

Your problem seems more savvier but you are adding the KVM after install. A reinstall or repair with the KVM connected may fix it or maybe install 11.2 which is a much better version all around.
