I switched to OpenSuse from XP a few months ago, and have been quite enjoying it. I really like OpenSuse, I tried a few other distos, there good, but I just prefer OpenSuse, and what I REALLY like about OpenSuse is its amazing font rendering. I can set it up for FireFox, and other programs display the text like Windows did, without Anti-Aliasing on, and without the words getting all choppy looking.
Anyway, I program I use alot on Windows was the SeaMonkey Composer, which is now installed on OpenSuse. But It doesn’t use the text rendering like most of my programs, it makes the text all blurry with anti-aliasing. Is there any way, any file I can edit to make SeaMonkey Composer use the same text rendering as OpenSuse’s?
Thanks for the suggestion, I went into about:config, and changed some settings relating to fonts, and it still makes the letters blurry.
It does it in other programs as well, like Opera, Kooka, etc.
But I just really want the text to look normal.
Here are two screenshots I just took from my first post. The first is from FireFox, and the second from SeaMonkey. You can see how the SeaMonkey’s are more blurry.
the only times i had that sort of problem, was, when i compiled SeaMonkey & didn’t use the pre-compiled rpm’s. The other time was when i forgot to install my video drivers.
